The client's concept for this restaurant was to serve the food in little bowls so that the customers had a choice of ordering different types of curries and to share these curries. His idea of this style of serving was influenced greatly by the Punjabi method of serving.

Studio D2 decided to use the name as a possible design angle; we asked the client questions related to the meaning of the name, we then further asked him what the typical Punjabi kitchen is like, he told us that Punjabi kitchens are a for most families and friends is a social gathering, where by people cook and the women catch and up gossip all day.

We decided to use this concept of the kitchen and social into the design idea. Using the digital image as our story board for the events in the kitchen

The project was a design and build turn key project.
We designed and installed all elements that were required for this project.
The building was an empty bank.

Completely changed the shop front to allow more light in and allow for easier access as the original entrance door was next to a cash point, which would have caused interruption for customers wanting to come into the restaurant.
